How Long Can a Power Station Run Your Fan, Wi-Fi, and Ref During a Brownout?
October 17, 2026 · Kippok's Outdoor

When the lights go out, the first question is simple: how long will my power station last? The answer depends on two numbers, the battery capacity of the station (in Wh) and how much power your appliances draw (in watts). This guide shows you a quick way to estimate brownout runtime for the EcoFlow units we carry, so you can pick the right size before typhoon season.
The quick runtime formula
Runtime (hours) is roughly capacity in Wh x 0.85, divided by the total watts you plug in.
The 0.85 accounts for normal conversion losses when the battery powers AC outlets. Real results vary with temperature, battery age, and how often an appliance cycles on and off, so treat these numbers as rough estimates, not guarantees.
To find your appliance watts, check the label or sticker on the back or bottom of the device, or the manual. Add up everything you plan to run at the same time.
Example brownout loads
The examples below use simple round numbers so the math is easy to follow. Your own appliances may draw more or less, so always use the wattage on your labels.
- Wi-Fi setup: router and modem at about 15W total
- Basic room setup: a 50W electric fan, the 15W Wi-Fi setup, and two 10W LED bulbs, about 85W total
- Room setup plus ref: the 85W room setup plus a ref that averages 100W over time, about 185W total
Estimated runtime by power station
- EcoFlow RIVER 3 (245Wh), ₱13,500: about 14 hours on the 15W Wi-Fi setup, or about 2.5 hours on the 85W room setup. Rated AC output is 300W, so it is best for routers, laptops, phones, and a small fan.
- EcoFlow DELTA 3 1000 Air (960Wh), ₱28,000: about 9.5 hours on the 85W room setup, or about 4.5 hours with a ref added. Rated AC output is 500W.
- EcoFlow DELTA 3 Classic (1024Wh), ₱36,000: about 10 hours on the 85W room setup, or about 4.5 hours with a ref added. Its 1800W rated AC output also handles higher-wattage appliances for short periods.
- EcoFlow DELTA 3 2000 Air (1920Wh), ₱49,000: about 19 hours on the 85W room setup, or about 9 hours with a ref added. Rated AC output is up to 1000W.
- EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max (2048Wh): about 20 hours on the 85W room setup, or about 9.5 hours with a ref added, and it can be expanded with extra batteries.
You can also see the EcoFlow DELTA 3 at ₱56,000 in our portable power stations collection.
Watch the output limit, not just the capacity
Capacity tells you how long. Rated AC output tells you what you can run. If an appliance draws more watts than the station's rated output, it will not run, even on a full battery. High-wattage items like rice cookers, kettles, irons, and aircon units need a station with enough output, so compare the label wattage with the rated output on each product page before you buy.
Stretch your runtime during a brownout
- Run only what you need: fan, lights, Wi-Fi, and phone charging first.
- Keep the ref door closed so it cycles on less often.
- Charge phones and power banks early while the battery is full.
- Turn off appliances you are not using instead of leaving them on standby.
Add solar for long outages
For multi-day outages after a typhoon, a solar panel lets you recharge during the day. Our EcoFlow 110W bifacial portable solar panel is ₱9,900 on its own, or ₱7,500 per panel when you choose the "With solar panel" option on a power station. Actual solar output depends on sunlight, panel angle, heat, and cloud cover, so expect less than the 110W rating for most of the day.
